User Guide / Tenant Settings Team

Team Management

Overview

The Team section is where you manage who has access to your Straightline organization. You can invite new members, manage pending invitations, and update or remove existing members.

Inviting a Member

How to Invite

  1. Go to Organization Settings → Team.
  2. Click Invite Member.
  3. Enter the person's email address.
  4. Select a role for them. The role determines what they can see and do from the moment they accept.
  5. Send the invitation.

Role Restrictions When Inviting

The roles available to assign depend on your own permission level:

Your Role Roles You Can Assign
Super Admin Any role, including other Super Admins
Tenant Admin Any role except Super Admin
General User General user roles only

This prevents privilege escalation — you cannot invite someone to a role with more access than your own.

The invitee will receive an email with a link to set up their account. The invitation expires after a set period if not accepted.

Pending Invitations

Invitations that have been sent but not yet accepted appear in the Pending Invitations list. You can resend or cancel a pending invitation from this list.

Managing Existing Members

Changing a Role

To update a team member's role, find them in the team list and select a new role from the dropdown. The change takes effect immediately — they do not need to log out and back in.

Removing a Member

Removing a team member revokes their access immediately. Their historical data (notes they wrote, leads they created) is preserved — only their login access is removed.

Tips

  • Assign the most restrictive role that still lets the person do their job. It is easier to grant more access later than to explain why someone had access they should not have.
  • Review your team list periodically and remove members who have left the organization.
  • If someone's invitation was not received, check their spam folder before resending — the invitation email may have been filtered.
